FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Taylor Architecture Group (TAG) is a Northern-based architecture and engineering firm with a focus on community design work, especially for First Nation and Inuit communities, throughout the Far North. Our head office is located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, with satellite offices in Whitehorse and Ottawa.

 

We have a position now available for a Finance Administrator in our Yellowknife office.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who will support the optimization of our financial management procedures. This role will work alongside our Senior Business Administrator, to contribute to financial planning, prepare financial reports, and implement best practices in financial administration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, experience in a similar role, and an interest in expanding their skill set to grow with the company. A top-notch financial administrator will be someone whose expertise translates into optimized financial processes and compliance with industry regulations.

TAG is a multidisciplinary design firm which has been headquartered in Yellowknife for the past forty years. The firm started from the ground up, with a focus on providing high-quality design services specifically for northern Indigenous communities. As our experience and expertise has grown, the team has expanded to about thirty multidisciplinary staff who collaborate daily on creative and innovative projects across three offices. Financial Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting relevant financial data.

  • Evaluating and optimizing financial controls and procedures.

  • Updating daily transaction records and assisting with payroll administration.

  • Assisting with the managing of accounts receivable and payable, as well as expenses.

  • Assisting with the keeping records of invoices and tax payments, as well as reviewing and processing reimbursements.

  • Assisting with the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and budgets.

  • Identifying financial liabilities and performing risk analysis on liquidity and cash flow.

  • Resolving account discrepancies and performing account reconciliations.

  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports, including projected returns on investment and growth rates.

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in financial administration.

 

Financial Administrator Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field, or equal experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a financial administrator, or similar.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, Sage, Mosaic and Quick-books.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial controls and accounting standards.

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Superb organizational and time management abilities.

  • Great collaboration and communication skills.
