The Kugluktuk Community Complex performs beyond the arena’s traditional role of hosting hockey games and curling tournaments. TAG worked closely with the community to develop a facility that accommodates a range of additional functions, from a day-to-day meeting place for various community groups, to a venue for cultural events and celebrations. 
 
To mediate the difference in scale with the adjacent residential buildings, the profile of the building is low at the entrance side, while the roof gradually slopes up and away to achieve the height required of the arena.
