The new Yellowknife Wellness and Recovery Centre will provide shelter services for some of the city's most vulnerable residents. Providing a safe, comfortable, and culturally appropriate space for healing is central to the facility’s design.
 

The centre will offer overnight accommodations for 30 people, along with a day shelter accommodating 50. The day shelter includes a kitchen and gathering area for serving meals, laundry facilities and counselling spaces. A special program area has been designed to host music, drumming or traditional healing activities such as smudging.
